Located in the heart of the Hivernage district, Dar Rhizlane Guest House & Restaurant is a must for gourmets. We were there for lunch a few days ago. We enjoyed it. But first, let’s talk about the location.
A veritable palace of elegant architecture, Dar Rhizlane offers a cosy, hushed setting, combining zelliges, leather, fine woods and large picture windows. These bay windows open onto a magnificent, colorful garden, with rose, lemon, bigarade and bougainvillea trees, offering several areas as charming as they are cozy: a shaded terrace, a veranda, a private lounge. We decided to settle in comfortably by the pool for lunch, and despite the heat, nearly 38° that day, it was pleasant in the shade of the bougainvillea.
On the menu, inventive, refined gastronomic cuisine with Moroccan and Mediterranean inspirations, carefully imagined by the excellent chef Hamid El Alaoui. We start with crispy prawns, crunchy vegetables and sweet and sour sauce. An important detail: the vegetables are organic and come directly from the Dar Rhizlane estate, as do the olive tapenade and the excellent extra-virgin olive oil. All carefully spiced, it’s a delight.
If you want to enjoy the pool, Dar Rhizlane Marrakech offers pool access + lunch for 400 Dhs. Places are limited, so reservations are essential.
And if you just want to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, Dar Rhizlane not only has a charming bar, but also a boutique where you can find jewelry, beauty products and the excellent Dar Rhizlane extra virgin olive oil.
